BEBE Fall/Winter 2010 Preview

By Ril B

On October 14, 2010, the Bagkery team was invited to the BEBE fall/ winter 2010 preview in Senayan City, Jakarta. The theme of the fashion show was "escape to a warmer field". In an effort to match with its main theme, BEBE created its collections to look antique and adventurous by mixing texture to create contrast. In addition, the clothes were somewhat romantic because of the animal print. In my honest opinion, the fashion show was ordinary. The collections did not really represent its main theme because too many ideas were forcely poured into the pieces.  In conclusion, I would say that it was just another set of sexy attires from BEBE, as nothing was really outstanding.

The Granny Boots from Marc by Marc Jacobs

By Cil B

Fit for city chicks! This granny lace-up is a symbol for comfort and beauty, which can be very cooperative. The shoes' 80s low heels provide the ideal cushion for your feet to walk around the city all day long because it won't cause any pains and is practical.Yet, a modern punch is strongly exemplified that make these ankle boots look trendy. The fold-over top and the mishmash of black leather and gray suede notably showcase the modern tendency. The perforated and stitch details accentuate the contrast of two leather materials, which really flaunt the shoes' chic character. Armed with all these stylish factors, the shoes can be paired with most outfits effortlessly. You can throw this pair on with a girly baby doll dress or simply tuck your black skinny denim/jegging in the pair and match them with white loose shirts topped with beige colored vests.

Marco Tagliaferri Bag

By Ril B

Are you familiar with this bag?

Is this an Hermes Birkin? It might look like one but it's not. This is a Marco Tagliaferri bag ...

The Marco Tagliaferri bag was once very popular in 2007. Marco Taggliaferri is an Italian designer from Milan. However, it is quite hard to find his line of products in the market nowadays.

Back in 2007, Ashley Olsen was one of the many Hollywood actresses who frequently used a Marco Tagliaferri bag.

The shape of this bag is very similar to the mighty Hermes Birkin but it definitely has its own characteristics that differentiate it from a Birkin. In addition, it gives the user a unique look and a different impression altogether from someone with a Birkin bag. If you look closer, the shape of this MT bag is slouchier than an Hermes Birkin. The slouchy look makes it a more casual bag than a Birkin. The strap that comes with this bag allows it to be carried casually while walking around. The long strap is definitely not inspired by Hermes Birkin, but it sure looks like it's Hermes Kelly inspired, which is not a bad thing.

To purchase this bag, you can contact us on our Facebook (BAGkery Shop) or add our BB Pin at 20D1AA25. We sell this bag in either medium or large size.
PS: I believe Ashley Olsen carried the big one and it definitely looked sexy! The price is also much cheaper compared to Hermes Birkin. :p

Michael Michael Kors Hamilton Bag

By Ril B

Looking for a chic and affordable bag for your everyday activities? I would say Michael Kors' Hamilton bag is your answer! I personally own this bag, which I fell in love with at first sight. From the moment I laid my eyes on the Hamilton bag, I decided to buy it as I find it to be a functional and in vogue bag. Fortunately, I've never regretted my impulsive decision at all. This bag is superbly chic and trendy. The shape, the belt, the lock, and the chain of this bag go very well together. This combination gives the impression of a more expensive bag than it actually is. The MK bag is very roomy as I can fit all of my daily items and it does not look bulky at all. The skin of this bag is made of sturdy material, so I don't have to worry about scratching it as I always throw this bag anywhere possible while working. Last but not least, med-long chain/strap is not only fashionable, but they make it easier to carry my bag when I am in a rush. I am thinking of getting another one or two of this Hamilton bag in different colors, how about you? ;)

Bagz War: BALENCIAGA vs. CELINE

By Ril B/Cil B

BALENCIAGA "lune" tote
Material: calf skin
           vs.
CELINE "front flap" tote
 Material: calf skin

The winner is BALENCIAGA! We picked BALENCIAGA, because the "lune" tote successfully derives the inspiration of preppy handbag. This bag has the combination of smart character represented by its structured shape and crisp look and casual attribute portrayed by its soft and slouchy touch on either side. Compared to the "lune", the design of CELINE "front flap" tote seems too conservative and old-fashioned because of the bag's super rigid and stiff figure.

What's your pick?

TOMS, The Best Fashionable Walking Shoes!

By Ril B
TOMS is the best walking shoes I have ever had. They are very light, with superbly comfortable upper fabric and sole materials. The shoes unique fabric designs gives you American casual look with a chic touch. Thus, I could walk up and down San Francisco hills comfortably, while keeping my fashion style in check. And that's not all, TOMS also has a charitable purpose: giving shoes to children in need. TOMS slogan is ONE for ONE, which means "with every pair you purchase, TOMS will give a pair new shoes to a child in need." So, what are you waiting for?

Calf-length is a New Hit

By Cil B
Modesty is on the upswing with designers navigating their collections toward a style that hide your knees and the curvy dress that show off more of your figure than your skin. Designer Marc Jacobs took fashion back to the New Look of 1947 initiated by Christian Dior with demure full-skirted dressed collection for Louis Vuitton. Similarly, he presented the retro skirt and dress collection inspired by the seventies that covered your body down to your mid-calf for his own line Marc Jacobs RTW Spring 2011. Other designers have also welcomed this new trend by showing their calf-length dresses, gowns, and skirts as part of their RTW Spring 2011 collections in New York. There is certainly a movement from minis to a very lengthy look that might change the definition of sexy and appealing.
